Why Animas High School:

I started my education in a Montessori school. This taught me to be a Kinesthetic learner at a young age. After elementary school, I decided to go to a public middle school where I struggled and could not get my ideas across.  I wasn't enjoying school at all. Then, in my eighth grade year I decided to transfer to Mountain Middle School, a project based school. Their learning made sense. After that I knew that in order for me to understand I have to use both my hands, heart and brain. After eighth grade, I knew that I had to continue learning in a project based environment, thus leading me to Animas. I love the culture here and how everyone accepts each other. I am definitely pushed by the rigorous academics, but it is all paying off. I am learning about public speaking at POLs and how to take ownership of my work at our exhibitions. My favorite part of Animas is the teacher student relationships. For once in my life I feel like the teachers actually respect their students and enjoy the mutual relationships.
